1. WHAT IS A GROWTH GROUP? A Growth Group is made up of 10-16 people who meet regularlly to study, share and support one another in their lives. Each group has a trained leader and host. A typical meeting is about 1 ½ hour followed by light refreshments. Worship and music may also be incorporated into that time.
2. WHERE AND WHEN DO THEY MEET? Growth Groups meet on various days and nights of the week in homes throughout the community and at SHV on Monday and Thursday nights.
3. IS CHILDCARE AVAILABLE? Childcare is provided (for a small fee) at both the Monday night and Thursday night groups at Smoky Hill Vineyard. For in-home groups it varies from group-to-group.
4. WHAT DOES IT COST TO JOIN A GROUP? The cost is commitment. The group will identify goals and commitments necessary from each member to ensure success. Groups are not expected to provide child care so you may have child care costs.
5. HOW DOES THIS DEFINE THE CHURCH MISSION? "Real Life, Real Community and Real Mission” all happen in growth groups as people share life together, grow together spiritually and serve together in outreach projects.
7. WHAT IS THE ADVANTAGE OF A MESSAGE BASED GROUP? The scriptures become a vital part of each group each week. It sets the stage for continued growth and community through application of God’s word in a unified effort with other growth groups.
8. DOES EVERY GROUP HAVE TO BE MESSAGE BASED? Initially groups will be encouraged to engage in this model for the 6-8 week session. Then groups have the option of following the sermon based model..
9. HOW DOES ONE BECOME A LEADER? Growth Group leadership training is offered three times a year.
10. HOW DOES IT BENEFIT ME TO BE A PART OF A GROWTH GROUP? Spiritual growth and maturity are developed through significant Christian relationships centered around the study of God’s word. Support, prayer, love and unity within the group provide security and strong bonds that last a life time.
11. HOW DO I JOIN A GROWTH GROUP? You can sign up before or after any Sunday service at the Info Desk, visit the groups page, or call the church office (303.690.2520) and the staff will help you select a group that works well for you.
